Joe M. Hollomon & Associates is an established and respected criminal defense firm with offices in Jackson and Gulfport, Mississippi. Our founding attorney, Joe M. Hollomon, is a former state and federal prosecutor. He has been handling criminal law cases for more than 40 years.
While many criminal defense firms focus exclusively on state criminal charges, we defend clients throughout Mississippi in state and federal courts. A considerable share of our practice is devoted to federal criminal defense. We are often retained by professionals and executives who have been arrested or who are under investigation for an alleged white collar crime. Joe M. Hollomon has been retained as counsel in many high-profile cases. He successfully represented Fortune 500 insurance company executives in both state and federal courts following Hurricane Katrina. He represented executives in the WorldCom prosecution in the Southern District of New York. He served as local counsel in the first trial of U.S. vs. Minor, which resulted in the client’s acquittal on a number of charges and a mistrial on the remainder. He has represented many clients in homicide cases, including the defense of the first death penalty prosecution in federal court in Mississippi after the re-institution of the death penalty. Following a lengthy bifurcated trial, the jury rejected the death penalty for Hollomon’s client. Most recently he has been very active in the defense of individuals charged with mortgage fraud.
Attorney Hollomon devotes a significant share of his practice to federal criminal defense, including the defense of clients accused of white collar crimes, federal drug crimes, federal firearms violations and federal sex crimes or violent crimes.
